Spring Break

Spring Break is here and I'm ready for it!! I still can't believe this semester has gone by so fast. It was a pretty good one for me even though it was my first online semester. I am looking forward to finishing up my classes online. I'm wishing everyone a wonderful week!!

Trayvon Martin

The senseless murder of Trayvon Martin is a sensitive subject to me, all parents, compassionate people, and especially  the parents of young black men. I have an 18 year old son and I can remember the time when he would wear hoodies and I would hate for him to be murdered for being in a certain neighborhood wearing a hoodie. This is senseless and it needs to be stopped. This could happen to any of us! My heart goes out to his family and I pray justice is done!!

It's springtime!!

This weather is nice and I wish it would stay like this! I really need to find someone to do my yard or maybe just do it myself. I really would like to learn how to do flowers but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Family and Friends

Today is another blessed day!! I am so thankful to be able to spend time with family and friends!! I come from a close family but unfortunately we haven't been as close as we once were. It saddens me because I have always felt if I had no one else, I had my family. I am praying we will get the closeness back and we will embrace one another like we once did. I love them and I want the best for all of them. I am thankful for new friends and family I have adopted. Start today embracing family more. Reach out to a family member you haven't reached out to in a while. Make sure your family knows that you love them, UNCONDITIONALLY!!! Have a great weekend!!!!

Good Deeds

If you haven't seen the movie Good Deeds, I recommend you do. It was a great movie with a great message. I have had a week of confronting and dealing with issues that I really needed to deal with and to go see a movie that spoke so loudly to me was so ironic. Some of the same things I have been dealing with was addressed in the movie and I feel like it was my confirmation. My eyes are wide open!! My favorite quote from the movie was, "You care to much about what people think." I am no longer living my life for others, I'm living my life for me!
